About PocketWyse

Educational tools to make financial decisions less confusing. PocketWyse provides educational calculators and Articles using standard U.S. financial formulas and illustrative examples. Information on this site is for educational purposes only and is not financial, legal, tax, investment, or lending advice. Calculator results are estimates only and may not reflect actual lender offers, fees, taxes, insurance costs, underwriting decisions, qualification outcomes, or market conditions.

1. What this site does

PocketWyse focuses on everyday financial questions: How much will this loan cost per month? How long will it take to pay off a credit card balance? When does PMI come off a mortgage? How might savings grow over time with regular contributions?

The calculators produce estimates for things like monthly payment, total interest over the loan term, payoff timing, and projected savings growth. The Articles explain terms that often get glossed over in paperwork, APR, PMI, MIP, VA Funding Fee, variable rates, origination fees, balance transfers, and prepayment penalties, in straightforward language.

The goal is clarity. PocketWyse may display ads, affiliate links, sponsored placements, or promotional offers, but the educational calculators and Articles are designed to help users understand financial concepts rather than pressure users toward any specific decision.

2. How the calculations work

Calculator results are based on standard U.S. formulas: fixed-rate amortization math for mortgage and loan calculators, compound interest math for savings projections, and payment prioritization logic for debt payoff estimates. These are the same general methods used by lenders and financial institutions to generate payment schedules and interest projections.

All results are estimates only. They reflect the values entered and do not account for lender-specific rules, promotional terms, origination fees, prepayment penalties, escrow adjustments, rate changes, or any other terms specific to a particular loan or financial product. Actual loan amounts, payment amounts, interest charges, approval decisions, and timelines depend on the lender, your credit profile, applicable laws, and other factors outside the scope of this tool.

PocketWyse makes no representation that any result produced by these calculators reflects or will reflect the terms of any actual loan, financial product, or financial outcome.

3. U.S.-focused information and international users

PocketWyse is written for general educational use in the United States. The calculators and Articles use U.S.-style terminology, U.S. dollar examples, and common U.S. consumer finance concepts such as APR, amortization, PMI, MIP, escrow, credit score ranges, debt-to-income ratios, and U.S. disclosure practices.

If you live outside the United States, the calculations, terminology, tax treatment, lending rules, insurance rules, consumer protections, credit reporting systems, and required disclosures in your country may be different. PocketWyse does not claim that any calculator result, Article, estimate, or example applies to non-U.S. financial products, laws, currencies, or lending practices.

Users outside the United States should treat PocketWyse content as general financial education only and verify all calculations, rules, and assumptions with qualified professionals or official sources in their own country before making any financial decision.

4. How the Articles are written

The Articles are written to answer "What does this mean in plain language?" rather than repeat industry marketing copy. Content draws from widely available U.S. lending concepts including standard APR disclosure rules, debt-to-income guidelines, mortgage insurance requirements, and common consumer loan structures.

The Articles are intended to help users recognize terminology and ask better questions, not to serve as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Nothing in any guide constitutes financial, legal, investment, or tax advice, and nothing should be relied upon as such.

5. What this site is not

PocketWyse is not a lender, mortgage broker, bank, credit union, insurance provider, credit repair company, debt settlement company, financial advisor, investment advisor, law firm, or tax advisor. PocketWyse does not collect loan applications, process payments, facilitate credit decisions, or match users with lenders or financial products.

Nothing on this site constitutes personalized financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. The tools and Articles cannot account for every variable in your individual situation. Before making any financial or legal decision, consult a qualified professional such as a licensed financial advisor, CPA, attorney, or loan officer.

6. Advertising, affiliate links, and third-party content

PocketWyse may display advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. These networks may use cookies, pixels, device identifiers, and similar technologies to deliver ads, measure ad performance, limit repeated ads, detect fraud, and, where permitted, personalize advertising based on visits to this and other websites.

PocketWyse may also include affiliate links, sponsored placements, promotional offers, or references to third-party products and services. When those relationships exist, PocketWyse may receive compensation if you click a link, sign up, purchase, apply, or complete another qualifying action through a partner. Affiliate or advertising compensation may influence where or how offers appear, but it does not change the educational purpose of the calculators and Articles.

Any affiliate, sponsored, or paid placement should be treated as advertising or promotional content. PocketWyse does not guarantee approval, rates, product availability, pricing, eligibility, or outcomes from any third-party provider. Always review the provider's official terms, disclosures, fees, privacy policy, and eligibility requirements before taking action.

For more information about cookies, advertising data, analytics, and third-party services, see the Privacy Policy.

7. Email, free downloads, and marketing consent

PocketWyse may offer free downloads, worksheets, PDFs, checklists, calculators, email courses, or other resources in exchange for an email address. When you submit your email address to request a free resource, you understand that PocketWyse will use your email address to deliver the requested content and, if you opt in or the signup form states that marketing emails are included, to send educational, promotional, affiliate, sponsored, or marketing communications.

Promotional emails may include financial education content, calculator updates, site announcements, product recommendations, affiliate offers, sponsored messages, partner offers, and other marketing communications related to personal finance, borrowing, saving, budgeting, credit, mortgages, loans, or similar topics. By submitting your email address through a form that includes marketing language, you agree to receive these communications from PocketWyse.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in each marketing email or by contacting contact@pocketwyse.com. PocketWyse intends to honor unsubscribe requests promptly. Transactional or administrative messages, such as delivering a requested download, confirming a request, responding to a support message, or notifying users about important policy changes, may still be sent when appropriate.

PocketWyse will not sell or rent your email address to third parties for their own independent marketing without your consent. However, PocketWyse may use service providers, such as email delivery platforms, analytics providers, advertising tools, or form processors, to operate the site and send communications. Those providers may process information on PocketWyse's behalf as described in the Privacy Policy.

PocketWyse cannot provide personalized financial, investment, legal, or tax advice by email or through any other communication channel. Any message sent to contact@pocketwyse.com may be reviewed for support, safety, compliance, site improvement, or accuracy purposes.

8. Consent language for email signup forms

Email signup forms on PocketWyse should clearly tell users what they are signing up for before they submit their email address. A signup form for a free PDF or similar resource should not imply that the email address will be used only for delivery if PocketWyse also plans to send marketing or promotional emails later.

A typical signup notice may say something like: "Enter your email to receive the free PDF. By submitting this form, you agree to receive the requested download plus educational, promotional, affiliate, sponsored, and marketing emails from PocketWyse. You can unsubscribe at any time."

Signup forms should also link to the Privacy Policy and, where appropriate, the Terms & Conditions. The final wording should match the actual email platform, consent method, and marketing practices used on the site.

9. Why this exists

Most people are told to "be smart with money" but are rarely given the tools to understand the math behind a loan before signing it. It is easy to feel rushed or pressured in a lender or dealership conversation.

PocketWyse exists so you can run the numbers privately first, understand what a payment might look like, how interest builds, and what a payoff timeline could be, before committing to anything. That is the whole point.
